Details of New Bern's victory over Rose.
Joey Young started for the Bears and Ryan Graeple started for the Rampants. Rose started the scoring in the 1st by scoring 2 runs on 1 hit by Graeple.New Bern answered in the bottom of the inning with 1 run when Todd Seymore doubled and Matt Sanders delivered the RBI. In their next 2 innings, Rose scored 4 runs, all on 2 home runs by Ashton. So in the bottom of the 3rd, NB is down 6-1. In the third, NB's 1st batter gets out, and then the next 8 batters get hits and NB takes an 8-6 lead. The big blow in the 3rd was a bases loaded double to the center field wall by Max Schott. Young seemed to regain his confidence and proceeded to shut out the Rampants the rest of the way. It was truly a fun game to watch. New Bern has had trouble scoring runs recently, so hopefully this will get them on the right track. Obviously, Rose has tremendous talent and I am sure they will rebound quickly.
Big games in the Big East this week are Conley visiting New Bern on Tuesday and Rose visiting Rocky Mount on Thursday. Only 2 playoff spots this year and Rose, Conley and New Bern are all still in the hunt.

We would love to have the esteemed TBR Prep Baseball comissioner join us.

Ragsdale/ER always play intense games no matter what the sport. Considering a high playoff seed will be on the line this game should be no different.

Of course my daughter informed me yesterday that was the night I had volunteered to be taxi driver  so I am not too happy about that.
