Rocky Mount gets back in the win column today with a 13-0 win over Nash Central in 5 innings. Freshman RHP Jim Leggett gets his first shutout giving up only 1 hit.

Charlotte Christian 5; Providence Day 3

    WP: Gaines

Jonathen Robbins help Providence Day take a 3-0 lead in the 1 and 2 inning after his HR, but once again Christian battled back and scored a run in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th inning to tie it up at 3 using a combination of great small ball and smart baserunning. in the 5th after a walk to bard, a single by M. Fulginiti, and a sacrifice bunt by D Hill. PD intentionally walked Gantner to bring up Kirkpatrick who laced a 2B down the line to have christian take a 5-3 advantage. christian held them and took home the W.

Thanks Kenny. We've been playing poorly of late. As you've seen, we've got some kids with lots of ability, but just need to raise their skill level. In their defense though, our top 4-5 players are multi-sport guys so I guess we do okay. When are you guys going to get some conference competition? Do you think you are headed to another game with SWE?

IntimidatorCoach,,, I was disappointed in that comment about the lights too. But it was just a tough game for anyone to lose.

I'm not going to say much about this topic, because I have too much respect for all the Northwest and Kannapolis boys, as well as the families too. I talked to as many NW boys as Kann boys after the game the other night. Those are some good kids on both sides and I look forward to them coming together in the summers to form our local legion team.

If anyone has any complaints about our lights or facilities in general, I would prefer you simply make your donation check out to Kannapolis Legion Post 501 Baseball and I'll be sure to see if we can make the necessary improvements that may possibly satisfy you...

Im not sure Q. We play at Bunn tonight and at home against S. Vance Friday. If we take care of business its all but over really as far as the conf goes. Our pitching has been dominate in the conference. Pratt has emerged as our #1 right now he has really been impressive with his controll and he is cruising in the mid 80's. Our bats are really hot right now as well. Our conference is down quite frankly. They are all beating up on oneanother and no one has any pitching depth. The second time through with the lead we have we will probaly see everyones #2 and #3 because they are all trying to beat oneanother in order to get the 2 or 3 seed. SWE is very good as you well know. But North Pitt and North Lenoir will challenge them before its all said and done. It is quite possible that we could see them down the road. We would have to go there the way the brackets are made up. Good luck to you guys, you are still in the hunt.

    Parkland @ Morehead

    Morehead: 7
    Parkland: 5

It was yet another rough night for the Mustangs. With 2 errors charged to CF, 2 to the 2nd baseman and 1 to the right-fielder, it was hard for the Mustangs to compete against the flawless Morehead Panthers. Jon Helsabeck (Jr.) and Dusty Joyce (Sr.) led the Mustangs again at the dish both going 2-2 with 2BB. Helsabeck scored 3 runs and Joyce had 2 RBI. Robertson (Sr.) for Morehead led the Panthers going 3-4 with 3 RBI. Jared Dodds fell to 1-2 on the hill for Parkland.

Parkland will play at home against NE Guiford on Friday ~ April 22.
