Vance defeated West Charlotte. Dylan Martin was 3-4, Wayne Lewis was 2-4 and Alex Hill hit a Grand Slam ( second of the season) and now has 28 rbi"s for the season.

    ND vs. WF

Your concern for Zach is much appreciated but not informed. He did not throw over 100 pitches against Mt Tabor and was just over it against West.I'm sure the coaching staff and his parents are aware of what he is capable of. It's a long season. I'm sure his arm may be tired, but on a team that doesn't have the luxury of going 3+ deep in pitching, most would be. You will not hear him make an excuse for the game. Reflect back. Several hits were bloops and one deep that should have been caught. I wouldn't write him off from college yet. I have an idea he has an inning or two left in him.........

    Rocky Mount-9
    Northern Nash-8

RM got 7 of its 9 hits from the 5-8 batters in the lineup to hold of Northern( #8 batter, William Barringer was 3-4 with 4 rbi). RM got similar production from the lower part of the lineup last year to beat Northern 9-6. Jim Leggett was the good luck winner in a game that did not feature particularly sharp pitching from the starters.

    Butler/Weddington

A bit more detail (just from memory though!! Not good!!)

Andrew Smith did throw an awesome game. I believe Weddington had 2 hits. The Bulldogs bats came alive from the first couple of pitches that Spencer Terry threw. Drew Gehringer starts the game off with a triple. Followed by Tyler Tewells single. The dogs scored 4 in the bottom of the 1st. Hunter Glass created 2 of those with a double to right center.

A couple innings later, Glass would add one more with a 2 out single to score a runner from 3rd.

Solid defense by the dogs kept the Weddingon runners off the bases. I think the Warriors got a runner to 3b only once. Shaun Wixted had a major league stop on a ground ball and then cut the lead runner down at 2b. Chris Rawlings (standing in at SS) handled everything hit to him. And Glass at 1b continues to catch everything thrown his way!

This game went 5 innings with the dogs ending in early with a 10 - 0 score. All the bulldogs had hits, most of them a multi-hit game. I think the dogs ended with 12 hits.

And to the person calling themself "#1 Warrior fan" who sent the letter to the Bulldog coach yesterday morning.... :nono:
