    Lumberton 6 Terry Sanford 1

Big win for Lumberton against a quickly improving TS team. Richard Royal threw extremely well for TS and only a couple of key TS errors kept this one from going down to the wire. Mac Read shut down TS in probably his best game of the year. He have up four singles, struck out 12, and walked 2. Lumberton SCRATCHED out nine hits but believe me none were hit hard. In fact, there wasn't a ball hit hard all night. Lumberton now 13-8, 6-3. One game back of Cape Fear. If we can get by Pine Forest Friday, it will set up a showdown with CF for the championship and #1 seed next Tuesday in Lumberton.

game was called in the 3rd or 4th and would have been suspended but Smith was going to lose players after last night because of eligibility and would not have had enough to play today

EF: 11-10 (7-3)...big game against NW Guilford friday night, could determine 2nd place for the 4A Metro Conference with NWG, EF, and Grimsley all tied for 2nd
