Up 3-2 Weddington commits 2 fatal errors in the 5th with 2 outs allowing Butler 2 runs. They never come back.

Tyler Tewell Hit a 2 run HR in the first.

Peter Hendel and Clay Tresher both go yard for Weddington.

Other than that not much fireworks at the plate. Go pitching for both sides.

Catcher10---pm me and I will get you the pictures I have of that HR blast.

    EM v Ind

    Independence 2
    East Meck 1

The Patriots get the win on their Senior Night, behind solid pitching and stellar defense. Soph. Jonathan Crews pitched well for the Eagles, giving up 3 hits (only one of them out of the infield), but his defense let him down in critical situations. The winning run for Independence scored on the following scenario with 2 outs: on dropped 3rd strike batter advances to first, balk advances runner to second, runner scores from second when the first baseman's throwing error goes 5 feet ahead of the covering pitcher and down the fence. Meanwhile the East Meck sprayed 9 hits and left 12 runners on base, managing only one run. They found every way possible not to put runs across the plate. These Eagles are young and unpredictable. They can beat anyone and they can lose to anyone. Give the Patriots credit though, they made play after play when they needed them.

CAP 7 Leesville at Sanderson 5/1

    Sanderson 9
    Leesville 3

    WP M. Gagnon (5 IP, 5K, -0- W, 3 runs - maybe 2 earned?)
    J. McFarling (1 IP, 2 K,-0- W)
    K. Wigmore (1 IP, 3K,-0- W)

LP - G. Kurk – I do not have his numbers.

Leesville struck early with a run in the first. Sanderson responded when 1B C. Wolfe plated 2B R. Brunson with a 3B. P/C M. Gagnon hit a 2HR over the 10’ fence at 385’ in RF. Leesville would also score one run in both the 2nd and 4th innings to tie up the game at 3-3. The Spartans erupted for five runs in the bottom of the fifth. The first three Sanderson batters (LF T. Trumps, SS K. Wigmore and R. Brunson reached on singles) and Wolfe’s FC plated Trumps. Gagnon’s single to LF scored Wigmore and Brunson. 3B J. King’s single scored Gagnon and RF S. Beavans scored CF K. Wood (HB). Sanderson added one more run in the bottom of the sixth when Trumps walked and scored on a pass ball.

    Sanderson batters –
    M. Gagnon (2-3, HR, 4 rbi, 2 runs)
    R. Brunson (2-4, 2 runs)
    T. Trumps (1-2, W, 2 runs)
    C. Wolfe (1-3, 3B, 2 rbi, run)

    K. Wigmore (1-4, run)
    J. King (1-1, rbi)
    K. Wood (0-2, HB, run)

Great CAP 7 win as Sanderson heads into the final three games of the season.

    Records
    Sanderson 5-4 11-9
    Leesville 2-7 7-12

    Next week

Mincmi - Conference Standing Question ?

IF South Meck and East Meck both win (or both lose) their final conference game, who finishes in sixth and who finishes in seventh place in SW4A?

South will be 6th seed if both finish with identical conference records because South was 2-0 vs East head to head.
