    R.J. Reynolds - 3

North Davidson scored 4 runs in the top of the 7th on 3 singles, 2 walks, 1 hit batter, and 1 error to get the lead for the first time in the game. Then Andrew Hunt struck out the side in the bottom of the 7th to win the game.

Now we know how West Forsyth felt last week when we scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th to win the game... [IMG]

    Mooresville 3 Kannapolis 2 (11 innings)

Caleb Diggs hits a 2 out double and after an intentional walk to Justin Ogle, Just West bloops a single over the head of the Wonder SS for the game winner......I'll add the box score momentarily, it's gonna take some time tho.

    Hitting
    Mooresville
    Diggs, 2-6, 2B, R
    Ogle, 3-5, R
    West, 2-6, RBI
    Rhyne, 2-5, RBI

    Kannapolis
    Sherrill, 2-5, 2B, R
    Hosack, 2-3,
    E. Boger, 2-4

    Pitching
    Mooresville
    Skidmore, 9IP, 2R, 2ER, 7H, 4BB, 13K
    West(W), 2IP, 0R, 2H

    Kannapolis
    Little, 3.1IP, 2R, 1ER, 6H, 2BB, 4K
    Sherrill(L), 7.2IP, 1R, 1ER, 5H, 2BB, 17K

    Kannapolis......200 000 000 00 --- 2R 9H 2E 11LOB
    Mooresville.....002 000 000 01 --- 3R 11H 1E 10LOB

Mooresville gets 9 innings outta starter Matt Skidmore who seemed to get stronger as the game wore on, striking out the side looking in the top of the 5th inning. But we still had a long way to go and Garrett Sherrill was doing his own damage on the hill. Mooresville got a huge defensive play in the top of the 7th when Seth Rhyne caught a fly ball to right and then got the relay throw to the plate to nail the runner and end the Wonder threat. Mooresville again wriggled off the hook in the top of the 9th when Skidmore got the K and the Wonders left the bases loaded. Kannapolis had their own share of defensive gems to quell several Mooresville rallies. It was a good ball game with few errors. Mooresville appeared headed for the 12th when the late game heroics came to fruition........life is good, Garrett Sherrill is good, BIG win for the Blue Devils!

Tri County 3A Getting Shook Up

    from Tuesday night :

Eastern Randolph lost their second home game in a row with a 6-4 loss to Union Pines. That with Ragsdale's 12-2 road win over High Point Central( no details) leaves Ragsdale ( 16-5 overall) and ER(17-3 overall) in a first place tie at 9-2 in conference. With SE Guilford lurking right behind both teams at 8-3 (13-5 overall) and owning a split with both teams it makes the ER at Ragsdale game even more important. The loser of that game will likely be tied with SE and may end up with a very low playoff seed.

SE Guilford beat Asheboro 14-4 Tuesday night to remain in sole posession of 3rd place. SE hosts the conference tourney as well so that may help them in securing the 2nd place playoff seed.

in other scores from the triad

Glenn beat Morehead 4-2 on Tuesday night and beat SW Guilford tonight 9-6.

Glenn is now 9-0 in conference and 14-2 overall - SW takes their first conference loss and is 8-1 ( not sure of overall record) Glenn has to go back to Southwest for a rematch on Friday night.

This will be played on Monday, 5/2. Game one will begin with two outs bases loaded and Justin Ogle at the plate for Mooresville who was trailing 7-5 in the home half of the 6th. Then game two will commence afterwards. Sorry I did'nt answer your PM.

    Owen 8
    North Henderson 1

    North Henderson: 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 -- 1 3 4
    Owen: 0 0 0 2 3 3 x -- 8 7 1

    Winning pitcher: Steven Hensley (7 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 H, 16 Ks, 2 BBs)
    Losing pitcher: Trey Nicholson (41/3 IP, 5 R, 1 ER, 3 H, 7 Ks, 3 BBs)

Leading hitters: North -- Nicholson, 1-for-3, double; Levi Wright 1-for-2, double. Owen -- Aaron Wright 1-for-4, home run, RBI; Patrick Davidson 2-for-4, double, two RBIs.

Next game: North, today vs. Pisgah (conclusion of Tuesday's game, suspended in second inning).

This creates a 3 way tie for second in the WHC with North Henderson, Pisgah, and Owen all with 3 losses. West Henderson in 1st right now with 0 losses.

Now it gets interesting. North completes there game with Pisgah today and has West Henderson in 2 weeks. Owen has West Henderson next week and Pisgah in 2 weeks. Pisgah has West Henderson next week and Owen in 2 weeks. The playoff seedings just may come down to the last conference games to be played on May 12.
