This was a great pitching duel. Both pitchers and teams played very well tonight. We are fortunate to come out with the win.

Reynolds' Kyle Paeplow (pictured above with the helmet in his hand) flirted with a no-hitter in the Rockets' 8-0 win over Enka. It was broken up with a single in the seventh inning. Paeplow still struck out 13 Jets and hit a three-run homer.

    South Granville vs Southern Alamance

    South Granville 0
    Southern Alamance 3

    lp- Luck
    wp- Robinson

Southern Alamance defeated SG 3-0 to knott things up in conference play. These two teams both finished 9-1 last year and it appears it will end that way again. South Granville had 7 hits and a couple of walks but could not get the key hits with risp. Southern Alamance had 4 hits but made the most of them. A couple of SG errors didnt help. I do not feel the errors were the difference. Southern Alamance out played South Granville and deserved the hard fought win. SA is a gritty team with some talented players and they are well coached. Robinson did an outstanding job for SA and I thought Luck pitched very well also.

Leading Hitters - SG May 3-4
SAPatriot please post your stats when you get a chance I apologize for not having them all I dont have the score book with me.

    Fred T Foard 7 St. Stephens 2

Foard hands the Indians their first conference loss, but the Tigers are still 2 games behind in second place. The winning pitcher was Aaron King. Foard has now won 11 games in a row after a very shakey start.

If things continue, the Tigers could turn in to one of the toughest #2 seeds in the 3A West.
