    Ragsdale 10

    Asheboro 0

Can't discuss names but Ragsdale pitched very well and hit everything they saw. Game over in 5. I think this locks up at least a tie for first. Wossa can give details.

Ragsdale took care of this one early tonight. David Coffey got the start for Ragsdale and gave a dink single to the leadoff batter who eventually ended up on third but no runs scored.

Baughman (??) started for Asheboro and after a couple of hit batters gave up a 3 run rocket over the centerfield fence to Jason Wallace. (that's Wallace, an ASU signee in my avatar.)

Ragsdale put six more runs across in the second all with two outs. A one out double by Desean Anderson, and three walks sandwiched around a sacrifice plated the first run. That was followed by Jason Wallace's second RBI hit, a 2 RBI single to Ben Fultz and a 2 RBI double to Nate Cash.

Ragsdale scored one more in the third, again with two outs on consecutive singles by Catlin Carter, Brent O' Berry and Jason Wallace.

Coffey gave up one more single and one walk but that was all the base runners Asheboro could get.

Coffey (7-1) gave up two hits, a walk and struck out six in five innings. Jason Wallace was 3-3, HR, 5 RBIs and some great defense at third. Nate Cash was 2-3, DB, 2 RBIs. Ben Fultz 1-3 with 2 RBIs. Brent O'Berry was 1-1, walk, HBP and an RBI.

Wheeless and Kahn (?) had Asheboro's hits.

Ragsdale finishes 9-3 in the conference tied for first with SE Guilford. Looks like the #1 seed will come down to the conference tourney which will be in Jamestown this year.

Ragsdale is 19-3 with one more game against Ledford, a top ten 2A team on Saturday at Finch Field in Thomasville.

Asheboro is now 5-7 in conference and likely needs to win the tourney to make the playoffs.

    Ragsdale 361 0X 10 9 0
    Asheboro 000 00 0 2 1
