    Northern Durham 8; WF-R 7

    WP: Robinson (complete game)
    LP: Fisher

O'Rourke (ND) - Started the game with a home run on the first pitch of the game, followed it with a double in the 3rd inning, an intentional walk in the 5th and a grand slam in the 6th. He had 5 rbi's on the day.

Goss and Bass also had doubles for ND.

Robinson pitched a great game for ND, allowing only 4 hits through 6 innings before yielding 6 hits in WF-R's comeback attempt in the 7th. He allowed only 1 walk and struck out 7.

Faircloth, Williamson and Abshire each doubled for WF-R and Matt Davidson brought WF-R within one run in the bottom of the 7th with a 3-run homer.

You gotta love the short field with the wind blowing out.

Cody Penny pitched for South and had 8 stickouts while giving up 2 hits and 1 walk with several scouts in attendance. Three different guys for South hit homeruns. South goes to 3-0 on the young season with all 3 games ending in the 10 run mercy rule. Cody Penny didn't hit a homerun tonight but he has hit a total of 2 already in the first 2 games.

    HR - Tyler Dillard
    HR - Cody Prestwood
    HR - Lucas Jackson

    Weddington 12, Fort Mill 2

    Fort Mill 2-5-4
    Weddington 12-10-4

    WP: Brett Watkins (2-0)
    LP: Alex Thomasovich (0-1)

Weddington continued to roll as the defeated previously unbeaten Fort Mill 12-2.

The Yellow Jackets (4-1) had just returned as champions of the Myrtle Beach Baseball at the Beach tournament before running into the Warriors.

Third basemen Brad Collins crushed two long HRs, including a three run shot to dead center that ended it early as Weddington scored nine times in the bottom of the sixth.

Entering the inning, Fort Mill had just made it a one run game 3-2, before a couple of errors opened the flood gates.

Brett Watkins looked very sharp on the hill, mixing his pitches very effectively to keep FM off balance.

Weddington (4-0) has out scored the opponents 47 – 9 in their first four games.

Weddington is a very strong team. The play much more discipline than in years past and they can really swing the sticks. Even their outs are well struck. They will definitely challenge for the SW4A title.
