First of all I was just stating my experience and if you are looking for me to blow smoke up your rear and pretend like everything is great it isn't going to happen. I am glad to give credit when credit is due though. You obviously are not open to suggestions to make things better so I waste too much breath on the state games other than to say I am far from the only one to have a bad experience as I have not talked to anyone involved with region 8 last year that doesn't have complaints. But I don't think anyone cares much about region 8 anyway. Everything I have said is true. If the powers that be choose to look the other way then so be it. I'm done with it, I had my experience and it is over. I know for a fact there were as many good experiences as there were bad. I'm not bashing, degrading or insulting anyone and think that the state games is great concept. It has been my experience that if you listen to people's bad experiences you can actually learn something from them and make things better, but only if you want to. I would also like to say that everything that I post is my opinion only. My husband does not get on message boards at all and thinks they are a waste of time. He agrees with some things I say but not all and frankly is strongly opposed to many of the things I say but he doesn't tell me what to do and I don't tell him what to do. You are right my husband does coach travel ball and has been pretty successful so I'm sure he does have ideas, but again he unlike me does not express his ideas over message boards. Although, if someone asks his opinion face to face those who know him know that he will tell them exactly what he is thinking even though they may or may not like it. Who knows I may even take his suggestion myself and let people just find out for themselves. Thanks for all you do.

    I'm misunderstood

I totally agree. It is definitely an accomplishment. I never said it wasn't an accomplishment. My hat is off to anyone that can do that with a high school team that has a change of players on a yearly basis. It would be great to have a program and coaches that are willing to put that much time an effort into it. I know that there are good coaches out there and I have much respect for them. It doesn't change my opinion that high school ball is just a step above rec ball which is what makes it so impressive that someone can have 300 wins. Great Job and I wish that every school could have those kind of coaches. It would make the high school season much more fun and competitive for all instead of just the few that have good programs. I don't care what anyone says it is not fun for girls to lose every game because they have a coach who doesn't have a clue. I've been on both sides and it is alot more fun to win or at least be be able to compete with your opponent.

High School a step above Rec?

Tell you what playball24. I feel like the devil so guess what. Why don't you bring your "husbands" travel ball team down and we will scrimmage. My high school team...ummm rec ball team and play. Maybe we will win maybe we won't but I guarantee that what we play in our league is not rec ball. Maybe we can do this you can do a round robin play after we play you can play Alexander Central, Triton, Mount Pleasant and some others. With all of those selected players and just us rec ballers it should be no problem. Just my opinion but don't lump all high school ball into one category.

It is not hard to understand

What part of leave my husband and his travel ball team out of my remarks do you not understand? It is not rocket science. If you read my post you will see that I acknowledged that there are some good high school programs. Yours may be one of them, I don't know who you are. There are some programs that I have great respect for especially the programs that have travel ball coaches for coaches. You might, but I don't think he has anything to prove but if you want to play his travel ball team I'll let you talk to him about that. I don't speak for him just like he doesn't speak for me. He and my daughter are in Indianapolis right now to watch the final four, but give him a call when he gets back. I don't know what his opinion is regarding high school vs travel ball but guess what, I have no doubt he would be glad to tell you if you ask him. Like I said before he doesn't like new technology, he is more of a face to face person if you know what I mean.

Not sure what all the beef is about, but I can tell everyone who does not know there are dozens of quality HS programs throughout the state, in 4 years DD has had many opportunities to compete against many of them. There are also some good travel teams but there are many that the coaches are really not qualified to do what they are attempting. Does not mean they are not fine folks trying their best, they are simply over their heads as some HS coaches may be. If you are in a bad situation, ask yourself, what can I do to make it better and leave the bashing to someone else.

generally when a mod gives a warning, the bs stops. next step is to ask some to leave. your choice.

sorry Softball08, but its out of hand.
