Well, we lose another one to retirement

    Eddie "Pop" Rivers has announced that he will retire from teaching and coaching as of June 30th.......I've known Pop for quite a few years and have watched his kids grow as he watched mine.....If you don't know Pop, I'll give you the run down.

    Coached and taught at Forest Hills since Louisville invented the bat.....I know his kids will miss him greatly.

    Founding father of the NCSCA, State Games and Scholarships associated with this organization....

    Starter, finisher and contributor to quite a few softball discussions here on TBR about the betterment of the sport..

    Here's the kicker........he didn't just talk the talk, he created what was needed to bring this sport around....gave us a voice in Raleigh, direction, guidance and pushed until it was on its feet and running.

    We're gonna miss ya Pop, but I have a feeling you wont be too far away....

    Enjoy your retirement and tell little bit I said Hey!

    I've been honored to have called you my friend...
