Why now?

I'm NOT a South Meck fan, but they are the ones that got screwed this year.

WCharlotte and Indy both got the thrill, the experience, and the opportunity to see how far they could go in the playoffs. Who cares if they forfeit the season now???? They got to play on Friday nights when South Meck was home watching the replays on Football Friday Nite! I bet if either WCharlotte or Indy had won the state championship this year, this inquiry wouldn't even be occurring.....any takers?

And, as for Vicki Hamilton....she's getting inducted into the NC AD Hall of Fame????? (Tom Brown [Maiden coach] ought to ask for better people to be inducted with!!!) This eligibility issue is not new, has not been dealt with for years, and has gotten out of control. Why isn't she held accountable for turning her cheek and allowing this to fester for so long? Just curious.....

Welcome to the big city. This has been going on for years in football and basketball. It certainly isn't earth shaking. As soon as the media attention is gone and it stops being a political football (pardon the pun), it will be business as usual. There is not enough extra money in a school's budget to police this kind of thing.

I don't know why people are acting shocked and disappointed. This has been happening since the first caveman transferred his son to a different cave.

What has changed are the number of parents that are chasing the scholarships and the parents that are upset that 'lil johnnie's position has been taken. But with college tuitions in upwards of $20-30,000, I suspect that plays a huge role in the decisions that are made.

You are correct. It is certainly not new.

It is hypocritical, however, to not deal with allegations in a uniform manner. The same week that South Meck got banned from the playoffs, there were also rumors and allegations against WCharlotte and Indy. South Meck got banned from post season, while WCharlotte and Indy were allowed to continue, pending more information and future investigation.

Whatever the penalties are, there HAS to be uniformity....wouldn't you say?

I'm a South Meck supporter, so I'm biased, but the Sabres situation shouldn't be mentioned in the same paragraph as the situation at WC and Indy. SM got screwed!!!!!

They went through the proper channels and thought they had approval throughout the whole ordeal. WC and Indy purposely tried to cheat the system and got caught. Yet, the difference in penalties left one shaking their head.
