well so far not so good for the Tigers. :(

    And the weather.

There is a lightning delay as of about 20 minutes ago - Ragsdale coming to bat in the bottom of the 5th losing to West 6-0. West just needed three more outs to make it official.

There really hasn't been much rain yet but the lightning is all over the place.

It was a tight game until West Rowan got five runs in the fifth - 4 of them off starter Trevor Mullins. Two homers in the inning the big one a 2 run rocket by Ryan Wilson.

The game started out looking bad for Ragsdale. West Rowan had a run in and runners on the corners for Seth Waller with no outs. But Trevor Mullins got Waller and Wilson to strike out and after loading the bases with a walk got the third out to escape a dangerous inning down only 1-0.

Ragsdale got the bases loaded in their half of the first with nobody out but Patrick Adams pitched out of the jam and Ragsdale never got a run across. A pitchers duel the next three innings. Adams was looking sharp. Alex Sink got on third with no outs in the fourth but Ragsdale couldn't get him in. He reached on a foul off his foot that the ump missed. Adams threw the ball away at first and Sink ended up on third. I thought the umps were going to call the foul after a discussion but they let the play stand. Didn't cost West in the end so no harm done.

Mullins just fell apart in the fifth. Not sure what they will do if they can't finish the game tonight

    It's a final

    W Rowan 6
    Ragsdale 0

    WP - Patrick Adams
    LP - Trevor Mullins

After the hour+ lightning delay the teams returned to the field. Adams looked sharp in warmups but he gave up two walks to start the inning. Ragsdale eventually got the bases loaded with 1 out but still couldn't get a run in. The Tigers just took too many pitches waiting for Adams to throw balls.

Brandon Phelps pitched two good innings of relief. getting out of a 2nd and 3rd one out jam in the 7th. Gator Lankford got a single to lead off the 7th to get a rally started off reliever Daniel Cauble but a pop up and a double play ball ended the Tigers season.

22-4 was a damn good year but not out in the 2nd round hurts. West was just able to bunch their hits together in the fifth to put the game away.

Thanks to Braves and TJ for making the trip. Good to see NCBBallFan and his wife again and good to meet RCbbfan.

Good luck to West next week against Eastern Randolph.
