The Catamounts recorded 15 hits and rode a big inning to an 8-4 victory over Clemson at Hennon Stadium in Cullowhee this afternoon. A capacity crowd was treated to fine pitching by Jon Nadale and closer Preston Hatcher. With victories over Georgia and Clemson, the Cats are moving into the meat of their SoCon schedule...and they face Georgia at home and Clemson on the road in a few weeks.

Record stands at 13-4 and the team is very cohesive and clutch.

    Way To Go Cats!

Five Catamounts posted multiple hits in the win as WCU hung 14 on the scoreboard. Luke Gragg and Cody Jones both had three hits while Tyler White, Ross Heffley (2 run homer) and Jacob Hoyle (recorded his 28th SoCon leading RBI) recorded two hits each. Adam Martin drove in two on his fifth double of the season.
Jon Nadale kept the Tigers off balance throwing 4 innings (2 hits) of scoreless baseball. Capped by 2 great defensive plays; the first occurred when Nadale dove to make a play on a screaming liner off of his leg with a flip to first and a scoop from Hoyle and the second when Dakota Spiess gunned down a runner at the plate trying to score on a fly to deep left.
