    Kannapolis Lake....

Yep, your right Int.Coach! Kannapolis Lake has some good fish stories in it.

However, right now our baseball field looks like it would have some good fishing in it too!!! :(

    Re: This just in...

The Conference officals have awarded Mooresville with an additional 153 2/3 lbs as a result of this spectacular catch, placing them well out in front. They now have a commanding lead of
    301 1/3 lbs...

    Fabulous story Tank....

After several inches of snow in the mountains, the bass have moved into warmer waters. Die-hards in Avery County have have busted through the ice, and are trolling throughout the infield with football sleds. They have also rigged up a long-range casting apparatus with the pitching machine. This enables them to reach the canal at the OF fence from the relative comfort of the pitching mound. Good catches of brown trout, merkles, and wall-eye pike have been reported.

Under the SABRmetrics scoring system, Avery County leaps WAY into the lead. (S.A.B.R. = Special Accumulation, Brookies, Rainbows) ... The Wall-eyes are considered a nuisance fish in this instance, but the catch was enough to garner them 431 1/2 points and to take the lead. The diaper dandies at North Meck have taken to beating the infield water with their bats and have forgone the use of hooks, lures and worms..... it seems to be working and at their feverish pace, they are up to 210 2/3 lbs, sliding into 3rd. South Meck, based on their primary catch of what can only be called a "Horsefish" is currently in 4th.

    MegaConference Fishing....

Ok, it sounds like the fishing is getting serious in "other" parts of the state, so I've convinced these "little" Central Cabarrus boys to stand over here in fair territory with me and we appear to be all legal now.

We eat all the illegal fish which was caught behind the 1st base dugout and we're up to 281 lbs so far with legal fish which was caught in FAIR TERRITORY!!!!

The oompas of south meck landed a record 35 lb Bass. Everybody was excited and alerted the Game officials to verify the record setting catch...

Upon arrival for inspection the officials were excited to view this NC record but soon their excitement resulted in shock....

" What did you do with the fish " he gasped

" Well, can't you measure by the bones. "

The game warden appeared to be stunned, but just when he thought he was recovering from amazement, he peered out towards the centerfield facade and there was a sight to behold

There was a young lady sitting at her own portable picnic bench surrounded by flowers and candles. A small minstrel was serenading her as she was to begin what appeared to be a fine dining cuisine...

The game warden could not avoid satisfying his curiosity and decided to see what this was all about.

Just as this lady was about to engulf her first taste of what appeared to be some sort of seafood, the game warden asked, " Excuse me , ma'am, but what are you eating?"

" Oh, these fine little munchkins invited me to sample some of the local fresh fish caught in this area and I just happend to have my picnic supplies with me"

" Uh...Ma'am do you realize that you are eating a record....ummm...well...nevermind...that smells pretty good"

" Would you care to sample some?"

    " Why thank you, Ma'am....I think I will "

" Mmmm...this is delicious..say, what is your name?"

" I go by the name Original..but some people of TBR call me "The Swamp Juice Queen"

" By the way, sir, since you appear to be eating part of this record breaking fish, do you think you could be so nice as to verify the size of this caught fish"

" Why, of course...this fish has officially been verified at 45lbs "

GREAT!!! a new NC record setting Bass....worth an additional 500 points in bonus....way to go SM

For those of you of a scientific bend, this is the current Sabr formulas that have been adopted as per the weighing of fish.

    A1. y = V * y
    A2. y = - q2 * p * q
    A3. y = V * y * 1 - R2x2 + y2
    where R, V and q are constants.

Determination of relative weights are then applied to the classic SABR Formulas

    Adjusted Catch Weighing Percentage (ACWP/A)

A position player's Pythagorean fishing Percentage adjusted for his team Defensive Lost Bait Percentage (DLBP%).

    Calculated by the formula:
    = ( IsoPFP *PitResp ) + ( Team DLBP*DefResp )

    Extrapolated Weight (XW):

A method which extrapolates the number of bass that a particular player would catch over those which a substitue player would catch. Derived from the formula:

    OXW= (XOWP%-repXOWP%)*AvgTmG

Using straight calculations, South Meck's current weight now stands at 710 lbs .... luckily for Avery County :D we are using MY SABRmetrics calculations......

    Current Standings:
    Avery County, 532.51327
    Mooresville, 391.42672
    Central Cabarrus, 388.42125
    ...
    South Meck, 2
    North Meck, 1.923567

Now if a PITCHER had caught that 35 lb bass instead of the 1st baseman ............
