    Looking at the box scores this weekend and couldn't help but see all the players from the western part of the state that had good series.

    Whit Merrifield with 2 home runs was a great start for a great kid. any others?

    Matt Andress 3.1 I, 1 R, 1H (South Meck) earned the win Garrett Sherrill (AL Brown) the save (1-2-3 ninth) in ASU win over NC State on Saturday.

    -Drew Martin (Gastonia Ashbrook HS) went 4/4 for NC State in final game of series against App.St.

    -Jerod Faggart (NW Cabarrus HS) went 5/7 for App.St. in final 2 games of 3-game series with NC State.

    -Rob Lyerly (Piedmont HS) had 2 homeruns in first series playing for UNCC.

    Seth Williams

    Seth Williams from North Henderson also had 3 HR's and 8 RBI's for the Tarheels. He is off to a great start. I also saw that Chad Flack from East Rutherford had a HR.

    Ryan Leach did pick up a win on Sunday and pitched in fridays game also.

    Patrick Johnson (St. Stephens) has gone 2-0 in 2 starts for UNC last wednesday (VCU) and this past tuesday (. 10 innings, 14 K, 8 Hits, 2 walks, 2 runs (1 earned)

    Johnson's high school teammate Casey Rowe picked up his first collegiate win for Belmont Abbey last week. He went 3 2/3 Innings in relief.
