Seen thread in baseball forum that I liked. It asked college baseball players to post their workout regimen and feelings about it. Would like to see if there would be any of the college ladies interested in posting there workouts so the young girls and others like myself could see what you go through to play in the next level. Thanks.

    College Softball workouts:

First, my daughter is a senior (1B) at ETSU and I have heard her talk about having to run more in 1 week than she did in a whole season of high school softball. It's pretty much a year round thing. College coaches want you physically and mentally prepared to play 50-60 games in all types of situations, weather, traveling and tough opponents. There are different stages of your game that they will work on at different times of the year. Usually busting an eight minute mile is standard also. Players will spend a bunch of time on agilities, defense, strengthening and of course, hitting. Team bonding is also big. You are a small family in college and must support each other with the ablility to get along in many different, adverse situations.

Let me remind you that every college coach will emphasize STUDENT-athlete. Student comes first always. Study halls are the standard. She is going to graduate on time also.

I can also say my daughter wouldn't change this experience for nothing in the world. It's the ultimate travel ball. Great time and making great friends.....

This is brief but a general idea of what happens. It is a year round event.

Thanks Enkaball5 I am looking forward to seeing that. My girl don't think you can run more than she does now. I knew she didn't know the half.

    Workouts

    From my DD at school:

    Hey everyone,
I just wanted to tell you guys a little about college
softball. First, practice, its really not that much different than your high
school practice except for the running part. You do run more but its nothing you
can't handle. We practice 2 hrs a day every day for now but we haven't got into
training yet so I will get back to you on that one. One more thing about
practice is that softball is year round in college but its not as bad as you
might think it would be. Second, games, now games are more fast pace. It takes
a lot out of you but through training you prepare for that. You have to give
everything you have throughout the whole entire game. I love college softball!!
Its more fun than I ever imagined. When we start our winter training I will let
you know how that goes. Amanda
