Heels 25, does this bring back memories? The Lumber & Lightning you mentioned above at the 2003 13U AAU Nationals, where they finished 2nd. Many of these same kids are below in the 2005 15U Triple Crown East Coast Championship at Myrtle Beach SC. They were down 3-1 in their last at-bat with nobody on and won 4-3. That was the last travel ball game I coached. I figured nothing could top that.

First Picture (13U LUMBER & LIGHTNING)- STANDING : AC Rudy Fletcher, Tyler Smith (East Rutherford -UNCW), Brad Fletcher (Smithfield Selma -Lousiburg), AC Larry Smith, James Johnson West Henderson - unsigned), Weston Church (West Rowan -Catawba), HC Todd Fulk, Adam Waters (Hopewell - USC-Upstate), AC Jay Kobylarz, Gabe Beverly (Gastonia Ashbrook- unsigned), KNEELING : Kobylarz ( unsigned ) , Matt Lefko ( East Rowan - Unsigned), Kris Richards (Garner - UNCG), Trey Holmes ( East Rowan - Pitt CC) , Dylan Fulk ( Home School - North Greenville) , Jason Brown (South Stokes - Pfeiffer) and Justin Roland ( East Rowan - UNCC).

2nd Picture (15U Carolina Stallions) - STANDING :HC Larry Smith, Tyler Smith (East Rutherford UNCW), AC Buch Buchanan, Trey Holmes (East Rowan -Pitt CC), Weston Church (East Rowan - Catawba), Andrew Wyant (Fred T Foard - USC-Upstate), Cullen Park (East Rutherford - Unsigned, IMPACTS # 1 unsigned senior), AC Greg Wyant, KNEELING : Jason Brown (South Stokes - Pfeiffer), Kris Richards ( Garner - UNC-G ), Adam Waters (Hopewell - USC-Upsate), Justin Roland (East Rowan - UNCC), Chuck Upton (Chase - Unsigned), Jake Buchanan ( North Gaston - NC State).

I don't post too much on here anymore, but I still keep up with all the kids that I coached through the years. Those of you involved in travel ball currently, don't forget to slow down and enjoy the moments. Those weekends will be missed when your done.

    gone for months of weekends

AAU baseball for a church youth leader means you don't see that kid March - June, at least.

That come back win should have been easy for you, after sending me and buck down on thursday with 9 boys to play back to back games in 102 degree heat while you were chilling in the blue ridge moutains of virginia. Glad the reinforcements showed up friday. btw I thought the Arsenal game was pretty cool too.

HA! You guys covered for me alright. You did have 5 college bound pitchers though, so it couldn't have been that hard! Tell Andrew hi, sounds like he's had a great year.

    Great Weekend of Baseball

79 teams came to Rocky Mount to try and win the Triple Crown championships in ages 8 to 14u. Awesome sun and fun.

Congrats to the Storm Baseball of Virginia in the 10u and the Fuquay Varina Predators in the 12u for winning gold medals. Class teams and coaches.

12 games of umpiring can wear you out. GOOD NIGHT i am out like a light!!

PS: My apologies to the 12u Greensboro Batting Center for blowing the balk call.

Hey Stretchy- any 10-U tournaments up your way in the near future? I've got a team (not real talented), but would like to gain some experience before Districts. Would like to have you host them (yes, that means you put them up at your 12 BR house). They are good kids and they don't eat a lot, but they sure would love the out of town experience and the RM/Wilson environment.
