    South Meck Field Update!!!!!!!!!!!

A lot has been happening with the field these past couple of months! If you are not involved with the program, you will be pleasantly surprised with what has happened with the field!

Field has been plugged, fertilized and seeded!

Grass is growing and has been for weeks!

The infield dirt has been top dressed with tons of new dirt. Should be primed for the spring. No more lips!

Pitching mound has been completely rebuilt! Stripped all the old dirt away and built it back to specs.

Batters box has gone through the same changes! Both sides of the plate.

Weeds around the stands have been sprayed and pulled out!

    Trash has been picked up!

Home team bullpen mounds (2) have been rebuilt!

Pitchers mounds (practice) behind the right field fence have been rebuilt!

Teams have been limited to access to the field to allow the dirt to settle and the grass to mature!

Dugouts have been pressure washed and will be repainted very soon.

Some of the outfield tarps have been repaired with some replacements and repairs coming.

The carpet on the Halo has been stripped away.

As I have written, a lot of work has been done to the facility with more work planned in the future. A lot of people have taken their own time to make this all happen and the work they have done really shows. Rome wasn't built in a day, and more work is scheduled to get this facility back to where it should be. Thanks to all that have made this happen!

    Baseball field

Coaches, know how you feel about a field going bad.I have seen one our middle school fields go to the bad.But of course usually when season goes out no one spends time on them even to keep grass down. The school that i am at,I work on it usually everyday even when the head coach is not there.Usually spend time on my weekend off dragging the field.i have always loved coaching the kids and help where i can.I have a fuul time job during the day and instead of going home and doing other things i go and coach.Hope things get better.

    Coach Michael

When I played at On Deck we left SM field the way before we came there. We would rake and take care of things that we messed up and fixed them back the way they were, like racking the fields or cleaning the dugouts. We took great care of the field and didn't try to destroy nor tear it up. We were grateful for letting SM let us use the field and if they ever had a complaint, we made sure that it wouldn't happen again.
