What is a Good College Baseball Scholarship???

    That's one of the better summaries I've read on the subject.

    Not to sound glib; but, in my opinion, a "good" scholarship is the one that makes it possible for a player to play at the best place for him. If he's done his homework and chosen well, the chances are improved that he'll succeed as both a player and a student. On the other hand, if a player places too much reliance on the dollars, he raises the risk that he ends up in a less desirable environment.

    Agree with Prepster's statement.

    I do think that the 25% rule has lowered the percentages for most of the upper level players at many schools. There are no more "book money scholies" that allowed more dollars to go to the top recruits. Also, except for most of the big "State" schools there aren't that many fully funded programs. Add to that, at the smaller "state" schools in NC, the "out of state" tuition rule can bust a budget for a program if they sign many non-NC players.
