    Thank everyone for the good advice that you have posted. It is very much appreciated and I will pass it along. That is one of the great things about this board, so many knowledgeable baseball people that can cover every angle.

    Also, just to help with the information overload, I had an opportunity to receive some feedback on this issue from a rep. of a national showcase org. and from a rep. of a regional showcase org. In summary, they both stated pretty much the same thing, that if the primary goal is to get exposure to college and/or pro scouts and the boy is capable of earning reasonable playing time; play with the 18U team vs. the 16U team. Their explanation being that most 16U teams will carry many 15 yr. olds that will be rising sophs and even some 14 yr. olds and that while the scouts may have a passing interest in these younger players, they are not a priority so the scouts generally put the majority of their time where it will do them the most good, and that is scouting the 17U and 18U teams where most of the Jrs. and Srs. will be playing. Of course there were the usual disclaimers to consider such as the players maturity level, style of ball the team plays, team needs and such.
