Pops -- don't conferences have rules about intra-conference transfers? I think I recall that the SEC and ACC both do, so that if a player transfers from one conference school to another, he would have to sit out, but I'm not sure. I've narrowed your list to area schools -- some interesting things to notice -- I'm surprised that NC State has two going out and three coming in -- should make the recruits take notice and at least ask questions.

I don't know about the conference specific rules. They aren't available via the internet. It would not surprise me too much if some conferences had rules like that. I do know that transferring within a conference isn't addressed at all by the 1 year exception clause by the NCAA. They allow it without restriction.

There is one other sport in addition to Basketball and Football that is affected by the 1 year sit out rule but it's not generally an issue down here in the "sunny south" and that's Men's Hockey. Yeah, right .... we got lots of those !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DB, you should have left the list alone before you played with it. You would have noticed 6 guys transferring out of Arizona State. In case you haven't checked, Arizona only has 2 D1 (Arizona and Arizona State) schools in the entire state and only 1 D2 school. They just open their doors and the kids line up. It's not uncommon for them to bring in 40 players each fall, trying out for about 5-8 roster positions. It would be like you closed every college in NC that played baseball except for Carolina, NC State and Pfeiffer and everyone was scrambling to play for one of those 3. Tough market.
