    The right thing

Hapi....I know with that S.C. education you may have missed this...but "very eloquent" is a good thing...remember, I'm from S.C too and I had to look it up just to make sure.

We've got off the topic a little, it's not about Showcase vs Legion(we've been down that road before)...I've posted before that we do both. My son plays for Pineville Legion in the Summer and Showcase in the fall. He has had great experiences with both and had some solid teammates and great coaches to go along with the two programs...and yes, these teams go out to win.

My son loves the game, it comes down to what he wants to do. He plays with his friends in the summer with Legion, gets some exposure from Colleges and Scouts, then plays Showcase in the fall where he got excellent exposure to Colleges and Scouts.

In todays competitive environment, if you want to play at the next level you do need help getting there...pick any High School or Legion game and look to see how many Colleges / Scouts are in the stands...we had 6 guys signed this year at our High School (1 of our games we had 4 scouts there one night). Go to any of the "Top Shelf" showcase tournaments....you may have 10, 20 times the number of College and Pro scouts there....go to Perfect Game in Fla and there will be 100's of Colleges / Pro Scouts there. It's not hard to figure out which ones improves the players chances of being seen.

The other part of this thread was about the player that just showcased himself and leaves the team behind. I think the player that is just about me, me, me will self destruct, no matter if he is playing Showcase, Legion or backyard baseball...baseball is still a team sport and takes 9 players to get the job done. The guy that never picks his teammate up or walks on and off the field is easily identified by most recruiters. I've been sitting behind College coaches in showcase events and heard the remarks made about attitude or lack of hustle.

It comes down to a personal decision that is best for your son and family. JMO

Yeah, I was afraid Hapi might have gotten a little nervous to be called "eloquent". Last person that called him that .....he married.

Just kiddin' with ya UK/Dook. To know Hapi is to love him
