Whats up with Freedom????

Have they just given up???
I guess tonight will tell the tale...I hope Coach Watson has his coaches on the same page, otherwise it could be a long night....

 

After watching the game tonight in Taylorsville I would say that Freedom has not given up at all. They fought hard and took the lead after falling behind 14-0 midaway through the first quarter. As I see it they suffer from a serious lack of discipline. They committed a lot of penalties in the game and lot of them were just plain silly. Freedom still has some good athletes but not to the degree that they have had in the past. They run it pretty well but don't have much in the way of a passing attack. One thing I did notice was a lack of fan support. I would estimate that they didn't bring 100 fans to the game against Alexander Central in Taylorsville.

 

A side question to the original question - Why is The Big Dog (92.1) doing East Burke games instead of Freedom?

 

well i think you guys are going through what we in mcdowell have had a problem with for a long time. im not saying the patriot team isnt athletic and they def played hard against my titans- but athletes are in cycles. you guys have been on the upward part of that cycle for as long as i can remember, i mean yaull were the only team to beat crest in the nw4a when they were here. but at some point like this year in my opinion when i saw freedom i didnt see all the speed and size of years past. you guys still have athletes just not to the extremes as usual- and that makes a difference. just my two cents- could be way off -just my observation.

 

Has the split with Patton High School made a big difference?
