Weston Smith from Northwest Cabarrus. Prototype D1 pitcher, not really sure why he hasn't got more attention.

    Absolutely.
I've seen him up close for 3 years in scrimmages and feel he is as good as some we face who are already signed and delivered.
    Correction - I don't feel it, I know it.
The kid should have already been signed - but again, I obviously don't see and understand what the guys at the next level do.

In my opinion I think it has a lot to do with how most D1 programs recruit these days. I would be willing to bet that almost all graduates this year who are signed and going to play D1 baseball played showcase ball. Not saying anything is wrong with that but I think that players like Weston Smith get overlooked big time because they don't play showcase, the kid is 6'4 225lbs and throws bullets off the bump. He'll get signed by somebody I'm sure.

Jimmy Boyd of Middle Creek HS. I've seen this guy play several times now and he is the real deal. Strong, fast, can hit, and can pitch. Quite frankly, I don't know how he hasn't signed with a DI school.

Don't forget the other recruitable aspects.

Coachability, grades, teamwork, attitude. I'm not saying any one of these guys has this issue, but we have to remember that if someone is that good and hasn't been recruited yet, there is a possibility that there's another factor in play. No matter how great a player is, he still has to survive academically, be a positive influence on the team and be open to very rigorous coaching at the college level. Recruiters aren't just asking these guys' High School coaches their stats, they want to know if the player is a safe bet for survival on a college team.

Now for the guys that are great students and excellent teammates, it's a mystery why they haven't been scooped up yet.

Boyd surpassed 100 career hits last week to become the 2nd person in school history to do so at Middle Creek HS.

There's a JUCO in eastern NC that's minutes away from receiving two BIGTIME commitments. Stay tuned.

    Daniel Adams

Daniel Adams at Sanderson is not signed. the kid is a 4 year starter at Sanderson. Has great speed and hits for average and power. was looking at Gardner Webb but was told they were going with a middle infielder that hit from the left side. St. Andrews has showed up lately but noone else. I have watched the kid for 3 years now. incredibly gifted athlete and well mannered kid. He just quitely goes about his business each and every game. The has to be a school somewhere that can use a kid like this.
