    I may be having a BRAIN FART, BUT..........

    You say Ryan Foster is a "2-way player". I understand what that means in football. What does it mean in baseball?

    Thanks,:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

    I believe it may mean he is both a pitcher and position player(hitter).

    Two Way Player = Fielder + Pitcher

    2-way player means that they both are starting pitcher and are a starting "every day" position player.

    (I don't think 2-way would apply to a non-starting pitcher or a non-starting fielder in HS. You'd have to be pretty solid to be recruited to a D1 school as 2-way. I can think of one from the 2011 class. Who remain nameless. Can't think of a single pro 2-way player, although several have transitioned from pitcher to position player. ie. Babe Ruth, Rick Ankiel, etc. )

    PS. Sorry not trying to be obnoxious to catcoach with the "starting" part, you just typed faster than me. no offense intended.

    Isn't there a first baseman at klempsin that was a 2 way player here in Charlotte?

    No offense taken.
    I would agree to "starting" - otherwise I have 4 or 5 two-way players.
    According to some parents I have 6 or 8. (sorry... couldn't resist...)
    I'm just flattered (and my wife amused) that someone used the words typed and fast in a sentence concerning me. I'm a left pointer finger and right middle finger pecker. Ok, every now and again my right pointer hits a key or two - but ONLY those three!

    [Only three minutes to type this response! :N1respectHL:]

    Hunter Kocher JM Robinson, Started at 3rd most of the season but was also used as utility player, kid played all over the field and was hitting .423 till he took a fastball to the head and missed some time with a concussion. The kid is tough and versatile, a 6'1" MIF who played out of position all season. JT Ford Hickory Ridge, A Jr pitcher throwing in the low 90's and a nasty hook. Josh Chapman Hickory Ridge, another ridge player. Big strong kid with a quick bat and good hands and footwork around the 1st base bag. AJ Furr Central Cabarrus, . Tough on the mound, won't back down, good athlete. All these kids are D1/D2 prospects and should some looks.

    JT Ford was throwing 84-88 as of late July. Now he throws low 90s? Not saying you're wrong, just asking because a lot of people say low 90s and the kid may actually pitch around 86 and top 90 once or twice a season. Low 90s for a junior is pretty dang good if he is though.
