Who is the best..

After the amount of success by NC teams during the World Wood Bat events, the quality of showcase teams in our state is obvious. BUT, who is the best in the state..I'm sure this will stir up a lot of controversy but lets try to keep things positive about players and allow this thread to grow and not shut down.

Pool A All Star Baseball Academy, Hurricanes South, East Cobb Astros, Charlotte Megastars, VA Cavaliers
Pool B Hurricanes North, On Deck O's, New England Ruffnecks, Tri-State Arsenal Grey, Dirtbags 16's
Pool C Carolina Reds, Dugout Showcase, Gambrills Baseball, Mid-Atlantic Mets, Dirtbags
Pool D East Cobb Saints, VA Aces, South Charlotte Panthers, Prep Stars, Tri-State Arsenal Blue

Games at Wake Forest U, High Point U, Elon U and RJ Reynolds HS: Friday thru Monday

 

Cubs..

What about the cubs, i saw them play two games this weekend and all i can say is WOW, I would say the upcoming dynamic baseball world series would give a better out look but the Dirtbags are not in that tournament so i guess it really is hard to tell

 

We shall see

Some teams that weekend are going to be missing some big time players that have been invited to the East Coast Showcase so the best team might not win!!!

How about the top 2 (NC) teams of each of these great events squaring off in a mini tournament? Host it and they will come?

We all know about the big name teams cubs, dirtbags,scp, etc. but any teams out there that we should know about?

 

I found this info. on another website...

"The Dirtbags are the only North Carolina based team to advance into the Championship round the past 2 years. The Dirtbags are a combined 25-4-1 in the 17U WWBA since 2005 with one National Runner Up finish and two 5th place finishes."

Their 16U just finished 3rd in the WWBA at East Cobb.

In my opinion on any given day any of the usual suspects could come out on top (Megastars, Hurricanes, O's, Dirtbags, Sand Gnats, Panthers, Heat)
but as of late I'd have to give the nod to the Dirtbags

 

Isnt that info a little off?

I belive the SCP team last summer came in second place in 18u as well as this year the cubs came in fifth this year and were far from the only team in the championship round.

 

I have a feeling this thread will go to hell in a hand basket because some parent will take offense to another poster saying their team isnt good. Hope i'm wrong but someone's feelings will get hurt and they will hate everyone on here for thinking their team isn't the top team in the state.


It's tough to say who is the best because at anytime a team can pull it together and win it all(Fresno State, I know it's high school thread but their a great example). All of the top traveling teams are loaded with talent it's just the team that brings it together that weekend, plain and simple.
