I have a 10 year old daughter who catches at a pretty high level in travel ball. I am looking for the premiere catching instructor in Charlotte for girls/fastpitch. Maybe get some lessons over winter. Input appreciated.

...I have no idea, but I can tell you that Jenny Topping, the Gold Medal USA catcher, has a website. Maybe you could google and pickup a few tips or CDs that would help your DD from her while you work with area coaches.

WndMillR would never steer you wrong, so I would go with that:

However, if you are looking for some more names, I would suggest calling HQ4 They are pretty strong in softball instructing, and someone on staff with them that you would never guess is Chet Greeson @ Hopewell HS (formerly HC at East Meck). Chet has a lot of experience teaching softball and has a super talented daughter attending Western Carolina. If he doesn't teach catching, which would be odd, he would certainly know who to contact.

    Good luck!!!

either suggestion is an excellent choice. if you need to get ahold of miranda, let me know, my dd attends queens and knows her.

in gastonia we have chris jordan, the job he has done on his son and daughter taylor is awesome and teaches hitting also. very good people.

    Catcher

Melissa Stuhr is excellent if she has time. One of best I have seen before she damaged her throwing arm and gave up game. I have seen her go full seasons without a pass ball and she was fundamentally sound in every aspect. Young 22-23 years old so not that far removed.

thanks guys, we got a bit spoiled this fall by going to Jenny Finch camp and working with McKenzie Vandergeest. She was Finch's catcher at Arizona and USA gold medal catcher.

I know a ton of baseball instructors- the best in town. But I want her to hear it from the softball/female side.

    What about High Point?

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good catching instructor in the High Point area?

I am not in charlotte but im 45 minutes south. If interested shoot me a PM and I will give you contact information. Catching is hard work....if she is willing to work hard then I can help.

Also, I will do the first 2 lessons for free. If you like then you pay me what you think its worth. Any kid that has the desire to play and get better should not be taken advantage of by people doing things they learned on a video. I dont use videos. Pitching is a different animal.
