Yep...but having two great catchers on one team never hurts either player as far as PT. The twins are fun to play with

Your exactly right about the PT. What I was trying to say is, though I've only seen Jerrod a couple of times on the field I think he and Matt are a similar in competitive natures, that there will be that friendly competitiveness amongst themselves to out perform the other. Healthy competition like that can't but help.

    Players to watch

South Caldwell will be loaded this year looking for a state championship. They will have the personnel to do it also with a little luck along the way. Players to watch:

    '06 class: Brad Hardee-utility(can play anywhere on field)I think 14 HR's in
school/legion ball-getting lots of looks in football as well
    as baseball
Matt Gragg-P-great asset to team-consistent-should be recruited at
    D-II level baseball
Seter-2nd-OF- great defensive player, needs to improve at the
    plate
'07 class: Madison Bumgarner-P-awesome at plate also-turning heads at all
    levels-14 HR's in school/legion ball
    D. Coffey, Craig, Shehan, Severt
    '08 class: Messer-P

WOW look for at least 8 of the 11 seniors on Charlotte Christian to go D-1. Jerod Bard, Bryant Gaines (both ACC), Max and Kurt Fulginiti, Tyler Kirkpatrick (mid D-1) and Charles Bradley, Mason McVerry, Chase Martin, Patrick McNair (all with a good chance at D-1) and then watch out for Graham Fronk '07 to shine as his swing replicates his brother Reid (UNC) and he has as good defense as anyone with a little lack of speed.

I know he is younger than what is being posted, but I have seen a kid from the new Union County high school Porter Ridge. His name is Kyle Gordon and plays SS and pitches. When I saw him play SS last week at a tournament at N. Gaston HS, I could not believe this kid is just a freshman. He was making plays at short that just made my jaw drop. People around me could not believe their eyes at his glove work or more especially his arm or should I say 30-06 rifle he calls a right arm. I talked with some parents who were with his team and that is how I found out about this kid. OBTW, he is just 14 years old, unbelieveable!

West Henderson will be a very strong team again this year. They only lost 1 senior that started and will return 5 all- conference players from a team that finished 24-3 last year.

just to let you know the year you are talking about we had only 1 guy transfer to west, and 1 to east and 1 to glenn. our guy move to live and help with his grandmother who was having some health problems. the house was owned (and had been for 10 years) by the parents. i still agree with you that the transfer policy is ridiculous.

simmons is a good strong ball player. He is very agressive on the hill, with great movement on his fastball, and yes he does throw some as. his size also helps him out at the plate, he has a small zone and gets on base through walks alot. one to watch out for i believe.
