These are the teams that have played in the last 3 years. I suspect they will all be returning.

Sounds like a real challenge, any word on how they are doing?

    Hey CPC Baseball

CPCBaseball, did Manring and Helsabeck play for you this summer or were you just watching? I saw where you wrote on the other thread about them and on here about Simmons. I saw Simmons during legion, and when his breaking ball is working he is good but that fastball gets him in a lot of trouble sometimes from what I have seen. Also, how do Helsabeck and Manring react in game situations, for example: leadership, all out every play, etc.???

not too sure if CPC was a coach or what not, but i caught a couple of the western legion games this year. Helsabeck and Manring, both showed great leadership on the field. Helsabeck controlled games when he was pitching and always talked up the defensive while playing at short. Him and Manring seemed to pump up the volume while communicating from shortstop to outfield. Manring i noticed goes all out balls to the wall every play. No matter what happens he is moving on the ball.

I have seen Halsaback and Manring play spring and summer ,Halsaback more than Manring. They are both good players, conduct themselves well and seem to play hard all the time. I've only seen Simmons 3-4 times and the only trouble I've seen with his fastball is it's hard to catch up to. Jugs gun had him at 89 in the 5th inning this fall.

Manring and Hessleback are both solid players. Simmons is a good ballplayer, and throws the ball well. I think 89 may be pushing it a little. The few times I saw him throw he was Maybe in the mid 80's at best. He does have a good breaking ball, and when it is working he can be very effective.

    SC Fall Showcase

South Caldwell Spartans Fall team did well in their first Showcase, finishing 2-1, beating the '07 Anglers and the Charlotte Express, and losing to the Copperheads 18U.

    Always room for improvement!

    Madison Bumgarner

I'm looking forward to seeing Madison pitch for the first time later this month in Jupiter at the WWBA World Series. Believe me it doesn't get any bigger for a HS player than this tournament. He'll be playing for the Midland Redskins and will probably have the opportunity to pitch in front of 100 + scouts as a result. Justin Jackson, TC Roberson 07 and Josh Thrailkill, TCR 06 will also be with Midland. It should be fun

You're absolutely right WNCBB....some of the best High School players in NC will get the chance to "strut their stuff" in front of a huge crowd of College and Pro Scouts.

Can't wait to see the games and experience the atmoshere. :woohoo:

The best advice you will ever receive.........if you have access to a golf cart..bring it. They will let you bring it in.

and I will be breaking out my new "Braves Mobile" in Jupiter
