Richmond County... He left Laney when this job came open several year ago... his wife is from that area, so it was a move home for her.

Not to take anything away from Shelby... I think its a great place to watch a game, but the playing surface cannot compare to Bessemer City or Watauga.

North Davidson does have a great field and facilities. Davie's is nice but is a public park and legion field. West Forsyth is very nice playing surface and has a nice hill to view the game. With the new brick wall and net backstop it is very fan friendly now. Rumor is they may have restrooms and concessions next year. they are continually improving there. Laney does have a great hitting facility. Reynolds field looks the best it has ever looked before in the past. a lot of coaches are working real hard on their facilities around here.

    nice field

West Carteret's field has undergone a reconstruction since last summer. new brick wall that runs from dugout to dugout. new warning track. new visitors dugout. new all net backstop. new hitters eye in center field. new bullpens down the lines. all new turf. new red clay. new irrigation system. new dugout coming, the one with running score, total score, hits, errors, at bat, etc. turf is completely established yet, with some seems still there. but in a year field will be too sweet

Watauga: on a 10 point scale
PS - 10 (amazing, coach hardee put alot of work into the field and takes pride in it)
    SB - 4 (need a new one)
DO - 8 (nice plus coach hardee keeps them clean and trashless)
ST - 7 (needs more but the extra outfield seating on the wall is nice)
EX - 9 (PA is good, nice area around the stadium, indoor hitting facility next to the ball park, nice flag area, good concessions, only compliant is the darn parking)

sorry, but have you ever been to North Forsyth High School?
The brick wall does look good, but as a baseball fan it is horrible... a 4ft wall and a 3ft chair do not compliment each other! And the bleachers are not tall enough (they need stadium bleachers). Anyway, I really think North Forsyth will
look good in a year or three, but not right now. Just because they have a good team (that was pretty much hand picked) and the coach WANTS a 'STADIUM' not a 'field' doesn't mean it is anything special or it is "fan friendly".

North Forsyth --- are you serious/have you ever been there? Maybe it will get better in a year or five. The wall "looks good" but is the most 'fan unfriendly' ever.
Take a regular chair to the 4 foot wall and TRY to watch a game, it won't happen. And the bleachers are not 'stadium' bleachers so no-one can sit on the 1st 2 or 3 rows. Hopefully, things will change/get better there in the next season or 5.

I'm suprised no one said West Stanley. I went to a game there for the first time ever last week and I was very impressed. I will say it is as nice as many college fields and have never been to a better high school field.

Very impressed with the "homemade" bleachers and the outfield fence/scoreboard
