This post is not complete without metioning South West Guilford High School. The playing surface competes with most area colleges, the area around the field is spacious, clean bathrooms, nice concessions, bullpens, dugouts, this place is very nice.

Why isnt South Meck mentioned in this? I would have to say that Bagwells field has to be one of the nicest fields in the state. It would recieve a 10 in all 5 categories

We just put a ton of work in at West Stokes today. The field looks 10x better than it did. We added bleachers up on a hill in right center field. You're at the edge of the woods so it's shaded with an amazing view (you're above the fence). We also redid behind the plate and things like that. I hope to have pictures from Tuesday's game.

People that come to the WM-S.Caldwell game will enjoy looking at the field over there at West. I think the South Caldwell guys might be pretty impressed.

That field is becoming one of the tops in Charlotte.

They had ChemLawn come and do the grass, the grass is beautiful now. Green as can be.

At West it's hard to make stands because the field is cramped in by the football field, but they have the older stands on the sides of the field. The playing surface is what makes it so nice though, the stadium itself isn't. They got a new fence put in with "Hawks" written on the centerfield wall, and the wall is now maroon instead of the ugly green that they used to have. For a 7:00 game, the view is beautiful.

Coach Carpino has done a hell of a job with the field this year.

    yes on Richmond

remember games at Richmond Sr High way back in the 70's; it had the feel & look of a college ballpark even back then.
