I can usually tell by how many hotdogs I sell...
Humm?? did I buy an 8 pack or was it 12...???

As Tom Hanks said so appropriately in A League of their Own.
"Hurry up, look sharp, play well...
their are dozens of people waiting to watch the game...."

    All kidding aside...
All of us need to market these contests better...
We go after the High School, Middle School, Rec Ball Leagues and travel ball teams to help with attendance. I will get 80-100 people on a nice Saturday afternoon in the spring. Got to be creative....

seems that a prime spot like the on-campus softball facility that NCSU is building will serve very well to attract interested students that can walk up to a game. maybe some??

regarding attendence... the last two years at the tar heel classic I would say there might have been 100 fans in the stands. Being the type of tournament it was and having a cadillac facility I was expecting more warm bodies.

    NCSU Facility? Others?

When is the NCState facility supposed to be completed? How big is it?
Are there other local colleges working on upgrading facilities or building new stadiums? Just curious...

Don't know if you guys remember, but Coach Kee was at the Cardinals "Early Bird" tour back in June. She has been in contact with a couple of players from the Cobras. I agree on schools missing out on alot of talent in their own backyard. It does seem that more girls are being recruited from NC than before. I guess we have to start somewhere.
I watched a player hit a bomb over the fence, got a hit everytime she came to bat,& made a diving play at her base, in front of a couple of major schools,& as far as I know she hasn't heard from any of them. What a waste !!! Cause this gal is awesome !

    Regional Loyalty???

    Look at Winthrop's Roster!!!!

I'm sure there are budgetary advantages to recruiting international players but give me a break. Here is a solid D1 program with top notch facilities in the Charlotte metro region, but basically no local kids have this school as an option as they are dead set on fielding a Canadian International squad.

It just doesn't seem fair. Whether they are private or state funded, the school was established in that community for a reason. The other sports teams seem to have a better representation of local players. Once again, I know it's their right to field a competitive team based on funds they have to work with but should there not be a limit to the number of international students that you can carry on one team?

The following is home towns of players on their roster:
    Westminster, SC
    Newmarket, Ontario
    McMasterville, Quebec
    Kitchener, Ontario
    Pickering, Ontario
    Greenville, SC
    Toronto, Ontario
    Pickering, Ontario
    Greer, SC
    Rock Hill, SC
    Pickering, Ontario
    Unionville, Ontario
    San Jose, CA
    Brampton, Ontario
    Walterboro, SC
    Newport, OR
    Chahalis, WA
    Pickering, Ontario
    Toronto, Ontario
    Barrie, Ontario

Let's even look at some stats. For ECU their players from the west coast had a combined batting average of .200 and k'd 197 times this past season.
