    Title of this thread is.....

......why have a conference tournament if teams are gonna sit out of them.
Look, makes sense to me that not playing a "very needed kid" because of possible injury.
Answer to this thread....BAM! don't have a tournament.
Also, the very coaches who pull their kids out of the tourn., are the same ones who freak out on TB about their HS kids playing in crunch time.
When it comes to HS states, I have to agree with the HS coaches to let the kids play and the TB coaches need to get a seat in the stands.
As for Braves post, with respect pal, no way in hell or half of Georgia is a coach looking for some kid , who has sat the bench all year, to step up and make a difference in the states by playing well in a conference tourn. I hope I'm wrong about that. I know you Braves are very astute when it comes to playing this game. Again with respect, other than an injury gig, why would you not field the best on your squad to prepare them against the best in the state?

    conference tourney

The GNR Conference tourney has always been exiting . Great games to watch, some upsets, some come from behind to win in the last inning. We always loved playing in the tournament because of the competition and it gives a team possibly 3 more games to stay in game condition and not have a weeks layover before the STATES start. We were fortunate this year to win the tourney, which has been a goal every year. We were told that all the ADs in the conference have decided not to have this tournament after this year. I think it is unfortunate that this is going to happen because none of the coaches or players what that. They enjoy playing as much as we enjoy coaching. None of the ADs have asked us what we thought or gotten our opinions. Maybe money is the deciding factor, maybe its just not wanting to have to deal with it. Out of the 8 schools in the GNRC, our AD was the only one that even attended the tourney.
