:feedback: :banginghe Why is the so called "softball family" so disfunctional???:imagestor
Why is it that it is an eat or be eaten world????:burgerfli
Why can you not turn your back without getting a knife between your shoulder blades???:couto:
Why can you not trust anyone in this so called "family"???:guns: :guns6:
Why are these so called "family members" continuously trying to cut your throat???
One would think that this world is scary enough!!!
I hear it said all the time "I am glad that my children are involved in sports"!
Why??? They certainly for the most part, aren't subjected to any great morals!!! Or character building skills!! Maybe character destroying skills!!!
And for all of you sitting there reading this saying " I don't know what this person is talking about", you are lying!!! It is on all teams no matter the age group. The rules just get nastier the older they get!!!
I would like to be part of a family that cares about the general well being of the members, that teaches and promotes great character traits, that has a genuine loyality amoung members and where if you don't have anything nice to say you don't say anything!!!! Is there anyone out there that would enjoy being a part of that softball family??? And please don't reply that this is only my experience!!! Everyone knows what goes on!!!  :feedback:

    Hmm....

I don't believe what you are talking about is just softball.....it seems to me you got your feelings hurt while taking part in softball, but what you are describing is called LIFE. could be work, (getting a promotion) school (getting a better grade than your classmate or getting recognized more or stepping on your buddy because it is down to 2 spots left to get into a certain college and 3 people remaining as candidates), school sports (stabbing a buddy so you go to varsity while they stay at JV), higher education (who gets published, you know, "publish or perish"), church (I think I would make a better deacon or elder than someone else), neighborhoods (i think i will out-do my neighbor, make my house bigger or grass greener or flowers prettier), or whatever.

If you had a bad experience, sorry for that. But I have 3 girls and tell them often, pretty much daily, "get over it" and "get over yourself". If you don't get past stuff, you will develop ulcers or have high blood pressure by the time you are 6.

Sounds like a case of getting hosed and you need a shot of "get over it".

As hard as it is sometimes to stomach. Just know the next time around how you would do it differently to prevent the injustice.

:fight: (this is all of us scrapping daily with life)

    shame

I think its a shame that your first post would be something like this. In the twelve or so years that I've been involved with travel ball and "the family", i've had my cornflakes peed in a couple of times, but that doesnt mean the hole "family" is the same way! there's good and bad in every venture you participate in, how about trying to look for the good and let the bad go, it makes ya a better person. 90% or more of the parents and coaches I know, not only care about their girls, but every girl that is out there playing ball. Check your pm's and lets discuss this off the board.

    Say it ain't so....

    The GURU messes up?

I am have to go into therapy to deal with that......Where should I send my psych bills Guru?

Agree with cheeze and Guru, it just backs up what I said. it is called L-I-F-E in general.

My kid got cut from freshman volleyball at Piedmont high in Monroe after they kept kids who can't get it over the net. Was she disappointed and upset, sure. But we encouraged her to take the Coach's offer and practice with the team everyday and be one of the manager's and try again next year.

she is doing that, does't particularly like the manager part, but sucks it up to be a cog in the wheel.

we could have called the superintendent of Union county schools (joking of course) but chose to work it into a lesson.

    Well Said !!!!

I thought John hit it on the head....

A big part of this focuses on the dreams that we have for ourselves and our kids (and that's what they are, DREAMS) and what an experience should be. whether it is playing a sport, getting an education, or one of a million other things that make up what we call LIFE.

Dreams are possible and achievable because of proper choices made at critical times in one's life.... Bottom line is that we all get to make these choices.

The factors that influence these choices are the issues we all must overcome. Rise above the issues that cause the darkness, define a role for yourself which exhibits your character and how you live your life.

Make good choices..... simple enough, right?

Cheeze, don't believe for a minute this is the individuals first post. It's someone who developed another screen name to make this specific post which is a sad commentary on them as well.

    Perspective (The D.D.D. Way....)

I've never met a bad kid in my life. Parents? Well, that's another story...

Since you asked for feedback, I say as long as you're coaching/supporting your team to help ALL the girls, you should be able to find enough positivity to get you through any "rough spots" that come along. The fence is there for a reason....focus on the girls and leave the parents on the other side of the fence.

Keep it all in perspective and have a great time. The girls are only young for a little while. Remember, softball is still a game...even at the highest levels. Games are meant to be fun!!!!!!
