I never actually said one type of baseball program was better than the other. It just depends what your purpose is of playing a higher level of ball. Legion and showcase serve two different agendas. Funny how the written word can really strike a chord with someone to be read over and over and move them to make a statement. Obviously I'm just as guilty. All anyone can do is go off their own experience. If you have a fantastic Legion program good for you. Our experience is it's still political. If little Johnny is a hometown hero you can bet he gets lots of playing time no matter what. If grandpa is someone in the community same goes. There are some very successful and supported teams (Cherryville, Caldwell,etc.) They probably always will be, and I hope they are. Many major leaguers have played legion ball, but that won't be the case in the future. The American Legion is a great organization and I thank them for what they have done, past, present and future. No disrespect to them personally. We're talking baseball on this thread, not their service.

Something to ponder:

Is there better talent seen because of showcase ball or is showcase ball making better talent?

I don't think there is any question what I meant by "all the way to the top".

And yea..... I'd gladly take that long bus ride all the way to OMAHA baby!
