With the hot bats and the girls getting stronger I feel there are too many pitchers getting hurt and maimed to keep the rubber at 40 ft. Why not 43?

I agree 1000% ...Safety and it also makes the game more exciting! Dominate pitchers will still dominate if they are the real deal. Give others 8 players chance to offensively(better odds to hit the ball) and defensively (more ball hit and chance to flash the leather)excell.

    43 isn't the answer

Moving the mound back 3 more feet isn't the answer. It is the loaded bats that the players use that make them dangerous.

I'll make my once a year appeal to move the pitching distance back to at least 43' (45' might be better), and move the bases back to at least 65', better yet 70'. Would make for a safer and more athletic game, larger infield shows off the range of the infielders instead of the reaction plays that dominate the infield now. And yes, I am an old baseball guy. Just throwing it out there again...I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.

    43'

Gives the batter more advantage, so it will generate more offense, which can get a pitcher hurt even more !!! Got to tame those bats, & blues need to call "correct strike zone", not down the frigging middle.

    agree

i think all high school games should be 43'. The girls have to pitch from 43' in showcases and in college. The boys go from 60'6".

    Safety

Moving the rubber back to 43' will help prepare the girls that move on to play college ball. I don't want to get on a soap box, but getting bad umps off the field will help. Forcing pitchers to throw down the pipe from 40' is a tragedy waiting to happen.

As parents what can we do, who do we address to make these changes before a trajedy happens? Again I ask the decision makers WHY NOT 43 !!
Please post who or what governing body we need to demand to make this game safe.

High School ball could make it mandatory to wear the game face mask for pitchers...this would help, but I don't see it happening unless we have a tragedy.

Hey after witnessing what happened to Heather the other night...I'm see the need for SOMETHING whether it moving back the rubber, doing something about the bats....whatever.....But leave the bases alone... This game is better than baseball, don't want to turn it into baseball.
