By the way, I'm glad to hear our first two games were just practice games :pepper:...just kidding!

Blueagle's son proved again that he is the leader on LR. There is nothing that young man can't do.....or won't do, in order to spark his team. He's is the type player every team needs if they are going to be successful. The greater the pressure, the better he responds. His kid is a gamer!!!!

In my best Harry Carey imitation--

    Bulldogs Win!!! Bulldogs Win!!!

Wingate vs Tusculum- Lee Oxendine pitched outstanding in an 8-4 win. Mark Letchworth showed why the pro's love this guy, going yard twice.

Wingate vs Stillman- Wingate bounced back from their defeat to Stillman on Saturday with a whoopin'------18-2! Led by a dominating pitching performance by Dusty White, the Bulldogs were hitting shots all over the field. Spencer Robinson's HR sparked the offense leading the team to their best game this year.

The Pre Season Tournament was just the tonic Wingate needed to iron out some kinks. The pitching was very good all weekend and the two games they won, the defense was much better. They still have opportunities defensively to improve, but if they can show the same improvements in their other areas, they can be tough to beat.

Wingate looked real good in the games I saw them in this past weekend in Kannapolis. The offense was in top form and Mark Letchworth looks like he will have a great year, which I hope he does.

Had a lot of fun Braves talking to you and Mark Sunday. Both of you are classy individuals and it was fun hanging out and watching some baseball and talking with both of you.

    Wingate getting geared up!

Wingate is finally above .500 baseball with a 3-game sweep over Concordia (NY) this weekend. Timing is good for them to get in their groove (hopefully) and continue to roll with conference play starting up this weekend. And since Braves is not going to bring it up, I will. TJ came in on Saturday afternoon and pitched the final 5.1 innings, throwing the ball with power and confidence. He has been utilized as a closer in earlier games, but this was his longest duration. He had great command and basically silenced the bats for Concordia (3H, 1ER, 4K), which had been going strong in the previous three innings (final score of 24-20 indicates the hitting action for both teams). Hats off to TJ for a great performance on the mound!
