Wingate defeats Francis Marion

    The Wingate Bulldogs defeated Francis Marion on the road tonight, 1-0. Olen Little improved to 3-0 on the season by pitching 7 scoreless innings, giving up only 3 hits while striking out 7 batters. This was his first collegiate start. With two out in the top of the 1st, Dodson McPherson hit a double and scored on Brian Yeung's single. That was all the scoring Wingate would need. Brett Morgan pitched a perfect 8th and Josh Karr only gave up one hit in the ninth to get the save.
    Wingate will host UNC-Pembroke tomorrow at Plyler Field at 6pm.

    Congrats to Olen on first career start and win ! Great kid from a great sports family. I'm sure Mom and Dad are very proud and strutting around East Meck like a bunch of proud peacocks ! Best of luck!
