What Braves Won't Say...

What Braves won't say (he is too modest) is that his son, TJ, has come back from numerous injury setbacks over the last several years to help his team accomplish this conference championship.

TJ has a 3.21 ERA - a 3 to 1 strikeouts to walks ratio - and an OBA of 0.231. (Anytime you have this many ones, twos, and threes in your pitching numbers you are doing well ! )

This kid has worked his butt off (and then some) to get a chance to play again - and beyond that he is a great young man.

Congrats Braves - for both the on field and off the field job you have done !!

Braves, you must be delusional. No way Wingate won the SAC. They're not even ranked in the latest top 50 D2 baseball poll.

Shows you what polls mean..........as I'm sure you will never forget. What poll had Belmont Abbey ranked on the road to the National Championship.

And Wingate's overall record is a bit misleading. They were forced to cancel 10+ games at the beginning of the year to some northern teams that always comes for a whippin'.

 

My point exactly...and rankings are more than just honor. Abbey won the regular season, but had we failed to win the conference tournament we would have missed the NCAA Regionals. Why? Because name teams get the rankings...which means the NCAA at-large invites.

Wingate has blue collar earned the right to play on. I hope they're rewarded. I'm rooting for Nick Siega-Riz and TJ and the rest of the Bulldogs.

I'm hoping my Florida Southern Mocs make it to the Nationals in Cary this year. I'd love to see them play there. They are currently 34-5 but have to get past a very strong Univ of Tampa team that is currently 37-6 and 17-1 in league play. They square off in a 3 game set April 23 and 24th at UT which should tell the story for the Sunshine State Conference Championship.

Maybe a Wingate vs. FSC matchup (at the Nationals in Cary) is in the making?

TJ i s obviously the ultimate team player. that was obvious saturday. the first one out to congratulate a teammate etc. thanks braves i guess i did upgrade. good TEAM concept going on at wingate. would love to see them in cary.
