Monday at Ernie Shore Stadium

Mt Tabor vs Reynolds 4pm

Any news on Ryan Marion...how is he doing?...I see Glenn has stumbled a little bit

 

Ryan Marion has fully recovered from his ankle injury! He has been hitting 93-94 mph. The best 3a team in the state when he is on the mound!

Hampton Foushee

Can anyone update me on how Hampton Foushee is doing this season? He had a serious injury during the AAU nationals last year, inwhich he lost three teeth on an odd foul tipped ball. He is a great kid with lots of talent and was just wondering if he has fully recovered? Thanks!

 

Hampton has fully recovered from his injury! He plays some Left field but mostly is used as a closer for a very strong Reynold's team.

 

Foushee

Thanks for the update on Hampton, we played with him last season on the Winston Salem Jay Hawks team!

 

RJ Reynolds and East Forsyth were not suppose to be in the County Tourney Championship Game. Reynolds upset Ryan Marion and Glenn behind a few key mistakes and some very timely hitting. Reynolds actually controlled most of the game. Everyone was just waiting for Glenn to bust out but they never did. Reynolds used a clutch hit from Nick DeRose and a late inning suicide squeeze to put the Bobcats away. Marion did not do terrible but gave up some clutch hits and struggled late with his control.
East stayed close with West until the 6th inning when the Eagles put a 9-spot on the board and wound up winning 12-6. Not the prettiest of games with both teams going totally through their pitching staffs but the Eagles were left standing. East showed their potential hitting ability. Those bats just have to show up every game.

There were at least 15 scouts in attendance to see Marion and several who hung around to see the East/West game. Marion topped out around 94 and didn't do anything of real concern for them other than a little control problem near the end. But they draft pitchers with a little control problem high every year. Ryan will be no different. The only other pitcher up there in velocity was Ryan Basham of East Forsyth who hit 88 half a dozen times and was still strong in the 4th when he was lifted way too early in a 1-1 game, final score 12-6!!

So the #4 and #6 teams will play for the Championship tomorrow and I suspect it may be a high scoring event. Some JV pitchers may be getting a call up tonight.
