I've seen a good 3 feet or more taken off the distance to the plate by replanting and the Ump wouldn't even discuss it. That can make even a marginal pitcher a ralley stopper.

agree coach, that one step towards the plate made a heck of a difference on the curve ball she threw. dont know how, dont know why, but it did. i have receintly watched a pitcher who actually lept up more than out and they wouldnt even call that claiming it wasnt an "advantage" for the pitcher?????

Wow, based on that philosophy, every test I took in school should have been open book. Of course, for me, that probably wouldn't have made enough of a difference. :th_90edab00:

    Hey...

Hey if you can completely, ballerina spin, around to facing the outfield and then ballerina spin, back around and they call nothing, you could probably get away with walking straight up to the plate and rolling the ball across the plate! LOL Who knows maybe someone should try it just to see!

    We taught our...

Hey when our DD was learning to pitch, we would have her pitch with her eyes closed! We told her, that way she God forbid, she ever went blind, she could still pitch, LOL (It was actually to build her confidence, as well as her muscle memory!) With your eyes shut you have to rely on muscle memory to throw strikes, proper mechanics! If you can throw strikes with your eyes shut, you have the confidence to throw to anyone!

Yeah, but they'd probably call it high and outside.

    Umps used....

Umps used to tell our DD that they didn't have a lot of time to be positive, if they were right or not! LOL After the game of course! LOL

I can say that quite a few of the Umps I've dealt with weren't very positive. Nor was my experince with them.
