    yes I just don't see Ray coaching 30 - 40 something years like Mike Martin, Gene Stephenson, or Augie Garrido, among others.

    Would be hard to imagine Forbes giving up a gig like unc for Winthrop...even if it is a HC gig.

    I guess the lure of going back "home" and also being given an opportunity to be a HC is appealing. Plus, if his goal of wanting to take Coach Fox's place at some point, it would make sense to have some HC experience under your belt.

    I believe the underlining question is can he be successful at Winthrop? Will they give him the "support" he believes he needs to be successful, If not, then there is no reason to go.

    USC asst slot filled / pitching coach

    former USC asst Jerry Meyers returns to Columbia from Old Dominion where he was head coach for several yr's.
