Wow thats an impressive score against a great team. Am I assuming correctly that Underwood is Pisgah's #1 pitcher?

Pisgah vs West Henderson

I finally made it to a WNC high school game. It was exciting to see two undefeated teams go at each other. It was a pitchers duel for 4 innings but the Pisgah bats and Underwood (offensively and her pitching) WERE impressive! Not only did #10 shut down the West Henderson offense but she did it with a swollen ring finger on her pitching hand. She jammed that finger the day before diving back into first base. I saw the finger after the game and its amazing she was able to grip the ball. So, not only a big game high quality performance but a gutty performance from Brittany. She was ripping the ball at the plate too. Two first pitch line drive hits. The Bears are solid up the middle on D and obviously can hit the ball. Considering Pisgah also has two high quality pitchers this year with Haven Payne and Brittany Underwood, they are going to be tough in the State playoffs.

The West Henderson defense didn't help Shannon but I have not seen Shannon Harris hit that hard, EVER, so lots of credit to the Pisgah bats but I gotta believe Shannon was a little off her game and you will see a much closer game next time around.

But for now....The Pisgah Bears are the top team in 2A in WNC. :applause:
Too bad they don't play Enka this year.

goal3x - Pisgah is very fortunate. They really have 2 #1 pitchers. Brittany and Haven Payne have both been doing a great job this year as well as the rest of the team. I would list them all but in this post but it would look like a roster.

From what little bit of info I have been able to find on Forbush, it looks like you guys are having a great season also. Having such a high quality pitcher like Hannah Angel, I would expect nothing less. My complements to you and your team on all of the hard work that you all have had to put into your program. Forbush's accomplishments over the past 3 years are truly something to be proud of.

Keep us updated on your season.

 

Hawk08 - Thanks for the complements. It was a great game. I agree whole-heartedly. Pisgah played a great game but the score really did not reflect how close the game was. West Henderson has a quality team and Shannon is a great pitcher. I am sure the next time these teams meet it will be a much closer final score and another game to remember.

Unfortunately Pisgah and Enka are not scheduled to play this year. That would be a great game to watch even if it were just a scrimmage game or a warm up for both team going into the playoffs.

Another pitching duel for Erwin this time they came out on top. No earned runs given up by either pitcher. Sarah Burnett had 18 Ks for Erwin. Man it was to cold. Did I say it was cold. We got to build an indoor 4 field complex for these girls (moms and dads) to play and stay warm/cool in. I'll start the fund off with $20. Make all checks payable to hanger4. :xyzthumbs
