I'd have to say that Coach Amber Fox has created in her second year the best scrimmage in the state if not the country. Over 50 college coaches have contacted her about attending.

Teams will play two 16 minute halves
Admission will be $5.00 for an all day pass

I don't know about the California School but if the Patterson School from Lenoir is anything like they were last year all of their players are D1. They were one of if not the best high school team in the nation last year

 

I checked out Calvary's website, it has no mention of their athletics in it. Infact, my first impression is that their school is probably not that big a school.

 

Scrimmages??

Tryouts and Practice has officially started. Other than the scrimmage jamboree at Freedom and at Watauga, we haven't heard anything on scrimmages. Please post your teams scrimmages. I can't wait to see the girls in action.

 

No word about Calvary's team but we do know that they are playing Oak Hill in Virgina and also have been invited to the Tournament of Champions in Arizona. Usually no slouch teams get invited to Arizona.

 

Central Cab v Butler

Central Cab looked decent against a pretty good Butler team for a first scrimmage winning the second and third of 4, 25 minute quarters a little sloppy in the first and the settled down.

Central will be at Indpendence 10A on Saturday

 

FYI: Along with the scrimmage saturday at Freedom, the McDowell Lady Titans will have a scrimmage on Monday evening, Nov 14th at home against North Buncombe.

 

Wanna give props to the fine folks at Freedom High School for putting on today's Super Saturday Scrimmage. I was at both locations throughout the day, and I thought it was ran perfectly. There was also some good talent there today from across the state and the country. This needs to be a yearly event, with the facilities available, it could quickly become one of the best pre-season events in this part of the country. :thumbup:
