wow, I could write a novel on this. I hate aluminum bats. It automatically adds 75-100 points to a batting avg. People wonder why college hitters that hit 400 and have 25 HR's can't cut it in the pros, its because they have trained their swing to cheat with a aluminum bat. aluminum bats allow for a long, extended, looping swing, where with wood, you better have quick hands and a short swing.... Add that to the velocity of the ball thru the infield with aluminum, and everything is a hit. As a pitcher, you just hope they swing and miss or hit it at someone. Batters act so different when they get wood, they actually have to make solid contact and they change their whole approach. :D

As for the price of the wooden bats I don't think that they are all that expensive. Aluminum bats are runnin' 200-250 these days. You could get 4-5 wood bats for that much. And if you are breaking that many wood bats then its time to start re-evaluating your swing.

Knights and all major league baseball classifications use wooden bats only...don't know why you would think that

I don't see where you get off saying that using Aluminum bats is cheating. Sure the sweat spot is maybe a tad bit larger, not much bigger. Yes the wooden bat is more difficult to hit, but you'll find that getting into a higher level of competition, the pure players are able to hit with a woody just as good as they are with aluminum.

I wouldnt want to be a pitcher , 3b or 1b with very many of todays pro's using aluminum bats.
It is not cheating because its within the rules of the organization you might be playing .
I would like to see all of the college divisions using wood.
