Dirtbags 17u defeated the Jacksonville Stars today 1-0 in their opening game of the tournement. Chad O'Conner went the distance striking out 13 and allowing only one hit. Jeff May was 2-3 with an rbi , Brian Litwin was 1-2 sac bunt and a run scored. The 17u Dirtbags will play two tomorrow in pool play. There are several other teams from NC including the 16u Dirtbags in this tournement. The On Deck O's , Megastars and a couple of more. Good luck to all the teams.

Just out of curiosity, are they playing at the Twins or Red Sox facilities?

Ah, I see they're using all of them. Ft. Myers is a really nice place for baseball with some good fields. I've been down for spring training, but like going down in summer for the GCL too.

    Just some observations:

    - Charlotte Megastars are doing very well. They can not afford to lose one though based on RA & RS. Nice to see them do so well.

    - Dirtbags 17 are looking very stong in their division. Tyler Hanover is really making a name for himself on a national level.

There are some mighty strong teams attending this event getting ready for Jupiter.

I only see 3 NC teams listed for Jupiter this year....Dirtbags, On Deck and the South Charlotte Panthers. Are there not anymore NC teams going this year?

    Dirtbags 17U - Final Four

They play at 9:00 AM on Monday.
    Good luck to the Dirtbags.

Also, congrats to the Dirtbag 16U team. They knocked off the #1 seed this morning but lost out in the second game.

The Dirtbags finished 3rd in this prestigious tournament. Wow....what a terrific accomplishment...and it appears that Tyler Hanover had a tournament of his life.
