    What a great tourney

this will be. It is killing me that I cannot attend. I will get play by play from my dad but it will not be the same. Cubs are in same pool with the PG/Georgia Stars who have lefty Kasey Kiker, one of the top lefties in the country. Of course, I think the Cubs have one of the top lefties in the country, BUT THATS JUST ME! :ylsuper:

If one is a fan of HS baseball, this is the most fun tournament in the world. I can assure you, the players will have memories of this, that will last a lifetime. I love playing those teams from Miami and Puerto Rico...they have a special fan support complete with drums, maracchi's and some instruments I have never seen. The previous Miami teams played with an arrogance and flair, but the main one was banned from participating this year.

There is always an East Coast bias, so the teams out west come to the tournament to prove themselves. The Canadian team is always loaded, then there are at least 20+ teams that can legitimately win the championship. Each year the NC teams have done better and better. One year, all of the teams, including the SC Diamond Devil's (I never get that name right), advanced in pool play. The Jupiter tournament is always amazed at how well NC teams have done. It has taken us a long time, but finally they are giving us the respect that we deserve.

oh...and watch out for the Houston Heat team. They have some stud pitchers

Geez...I could talk for days about this tournament. But I'd like to finish by saying this. If you have never gone, there is no way I can describe what you are in for. There is nothing else like it!

    Diamond Devils 18U

Will the Diamond Devils 18U be a contender for the 18U Wood Bat Championship?

The Diamond Devils are always contenders, but they aren't as strong as last year. Teams tend to be cyclic in nature anyway ....

It will be a tough. They are in the same pool as the Houston Heat. The good news is that when they play the Heat, it should draw a lot of scouts.

    Probable Postponement

According to WWBA site, chances are very good that the tourney will be officially postponed. Final decision tonight.

Yeah...the prudent decision would be to cancel.....BUT...it would take a miracle for the NCAA to make the decision to waive the "dead period" for just this tournament. PG has a lot of influence, but the NCAA is not known to be reasonable and to make quick decisions.

Hmmm....I wonder if they are considering cancelling because they heard I won't be able to attend during the scheduled time...but could make the Nov. 18th date. :D
