Congratulations to both the O's and Dirtbags. Each of them had a great run in the tournament.

Don't forget ... On Deck made it to the Quarterfinals and the Dirtbags made it to the Semi's at the Underclassman World Wood bat last month....

Things are looking really good in the state.

You have co-champs down in Jupiter. A deluge ended the day so Chet's Lemon Juice and East Cobb Astros will share the title this year.

With all of the hurricaines, rain, etc the past few years, maybe we can get Donnie to call PG and invite them to move the event to Concord. I'm sure they will love playing on those fields.

The Perfect game Summer showcase in Atlanta this summer finished after 1:30 AM. The Florida Bombers and Orlando Scorpions started round of 16 play at 8 AM on a Sunday morning and finished Monday AM with the championship game. I remember driving out of the East Cobb complex at 2:00AM and thinking how I drove in at 7:30 AM the previous day. 18.5 hours of baseball and I would do it again tomorow if i could. The highs and lows of that day were incredible to watch. One particular I will never forget...........In the Semi-finals the Chet lemon Juice team was up 6-0 with 2 out and Nobody on in the bottom of the 7th against the Orlando Scorpions. 5 pitchers later the final was 7-6 Orlando. In the championship game the Florida Bombers were up 9-1 going to the Bottom of the 6th. The Bombers went thru 6 pitchers in 1 2/3 to survive 11-9 as the Orlando scorpion team left the bases loaded in the 7th. The Heart of that Scorpion team is something I WILL NEVER forget.

another note... all the championship games had a 5 inning or 1.5 hour time limit. so it was alittle unofortunate for the teams b/c i have no doubt both the o's and dirtbags woulda put up acouple runs in the 6th and 7th innings...its hard to pla a 5 inning game, but what can u do?

great job o's and dirtbags, both team beat some of the best comp. around. congrats to the o's for taking down national powerhouse Ohio Warhawks, who were one of the teams favored to win it and had 6 or 7 draftees. and congrats dirtbags on their success and beating the braves scout team.

    NC was well represented.

    O's 9th place
    Dirtbags 3rd place

    NOT TO BAD!

What a great four days in Jupiter! Except for Sunday, the weather cooperated and the competition was outstanding. Even though the D1 and D2 coaches weren't in attendance, MLB was there in force along with the the professional agents and junior college coaches. The Dirtbags and O's both played great baseball and were good enough to win the whole thing.

The Midland Redskins also made it to the final eight with three NC players on their roster. Josh Thrailkill and Sam Runion both got wins and Justin Jackson played a great SS and had several key hits.

West Henderson SR RHP, Caleb Cuevas, also had a good tournament and pitched Perfect Game Green to a win over Baseball America's powerhouse squad. Caleb pitched 3 scoreless innings of 1 hit ball to get the win.

All in all, a fantastic showing for the NC teams and players!
