Lets provide full details of the play !!
Hard hit ball that tips the pitchers glove and SS has play on ball and the ball hits the runner.

    Here is ASA rule :
runner is out if a fair, batted ball strikes them, when they are not on a base and the ball has not yet passed an infielder other than the pitcher

The key is the fact that the pitcher touched the ball. Should be live ball...no call.

    What was the actual call?

I think this is the same rule in other organizations but since the pitcher made a play on the ball & touched it it should be a live ball and runner not called out.

    Call was correct

According to the rule the way it is written the correct call was made. The NSA rule is on pg 130 letter l. It reads When a baserunner is struck with a fair batted ball in fair territory while off the base and before it passes an infielder, excluding the pitcher. Rules must be interpreted the way they are written and nowhere does it say that if the pitcher touches the ball the runner would be safe. The rule is written the same way in High School and college although I do not have a copy of those rule books handy so I can not give a page #.

ss had no play on ball runner was almost at 3rd base. If it had not hit the runner ball would have trickled into left field.
    Bad call.
